Networking
Final ERC Project
Networking
By Jonathan Petrella
&
Brandon Eccles
Focus Question: How can networking give us knowledge?
Area of Interaction: Approaches To Learning
Solution/Product: Informative Video
Design Folder: For our project, we are going to make a short informative video of us communicating with the audience about how networking is good for our lives, how it's easier to find information on a topic that we want to know about and how networking gives us knowledge.
Investigate: We didn't really investigate anything for this subject because we already know what to talk about in our final product. But we researched about when networking didn't exist and how hard it was for people to look up information and history that they needed to know. (ex: using library books, journals, magazines, newspapers, encyclopedia, etc.)
Here are the sites we used to research on our topic:
http://ivansbrain.wordpress.com/2013/02/07/what-if-the-internet-did-not-exist/
http://www.larrysanger.org/hownetchangesknowledge.html
http://www.gurusoftware.com/GuruNet/KnowledgeBase/Social/Internet.htm
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_did_you_use_before_the_internet_to_do_research
Plan:
- Research about our topic
- Filming us talk about how networking gives us knowledge on a video camera
-Getting some friends to help us film for our final project (ex: JP)
-Making sure our short informative video is at least 2 minutes long
- Edit our short video
- Present our final product when our final ERC project is due.
Evaluate: We think that we should have spent more time working on our project out of school than just in class because we didn't have enough time to film our video during class. We had to find a quiet place in the school to film because almost every room in the school was full and very loud and we needed to hear our voices very well because the audio on the video camera we used to film wasn't that great. even the library wasn't a good place to film for our final ERC project.

Design Folder
I chose to do this comic because I wanted to do a comic book character that was the opposite of Spider-Man. Instead of getting bit by a radioactive spider, the main character bites the radioactive spider and becomes ManSpider. Since a bunch of famous people on Youtube did a video about this superhero, I decided to take pictures and the story and turn it into a comic book. But I didn't copy the entire story about ManSpider from their video. I changed a bit of the story and gave the main character a name almost the same as the name Peter Parker from the original Spider-Man series.

Process Journal #1
Ideas:
- I was thinking of making a story about a boy who gets bitten by a wolf and gives him a rare disease. After being cured he realizes that he has the powers of a wolf.
-I was thinking of making a man named "Ronnie" who gets sentence to jail for killing many children at an elementary school, after coming out of jail, he realizes it was wrong what he did so he decides to protect any children being kidnapped, raped or getting killed.

Euthanasia
Euthanasia: Is It Ethical or Unethical?
Ethical Dilemma
What is Euthanasia?
Euthanasia is the practice of killing sick or injured people in a painless way for reasons of mercy.
For example, If someone has a disease and can't take the pain anymore, they ask a physician to end their lives with a lethal injection because they don't want to suffer from the pain anymore.
Euthanasia is Ethical?
Supporters believe that allowing people to have a painless death is better than forcing them to continue with their lives and continue to suffer. Even thought others think it's unethical to use Euthanasia, We believe that if the patient wants to use Euthanasia, they can do it. It's their right to choose when they want to die. Also, Euthanasia is legal here in Canada. We have the right from the government to use Euthanasia. So if people have a disease and can't take the pain anymore, they could choose to use Euthanasia if they want to end their lives without any pain. It's their choice. Not others.
Euthanasia is Unethical?
People believe that using Euthanasia is unethical because they think that physicians have the power to decide when a patient's life is not worth living anymore. So it's almost as if a physician assisted a patient's suicide. There's a reason why Euthanasia is illegal in other countries in the world like Netherlands. In 1990, around 1,000 patients were killed for using Euthanasia in Netherlands. Even if it was a patient's choice to use Euthanasia, they still think it's unethical because If people are sick or injured and their suffering from the pain, they shouldn't be using Euthanasia to have a painless death. They should be letting life to decide when their lives will be away on this planet instead of using a lethal injection to end your lives and to make the pain disappear.
